About Us
Extensive research revealed what we wanted and needed to support Hertfordshire residents in adult social care was not available in the way we wanted. So we kick started a project to develop our own, unique solution to address the needs of residents and practitioners.
Why we exist?
Hertfordshire County Council’s Adult Care Services and Technology departments worked in close collaboration to develop an in-house Assistive Technology (AT) solution to support residents to remain as independent as possible, identifying emerging issues early and giving reassurance for families and carers. This is called Data Inspired Living.
What is our product?
Data Inspired Living is an innovative dashboard which pulls in data from a range of different sensors placed throughout the home to build a picture of a resident’s routine to help identify issues and prevent them from escalating to a crisis point.
Ready to operate
Following a 2 year trial, the evaluation found AT enabled a number of residents to live more independent lives, provided savings for the council and gave additional levels of assurance to their family carers. In November 2023, Hertfordshire County Council opened up Data Inspired Living to all supported residents in Hertfordshire.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide residents, professionals and their families with lifestyle data to promote independence and self care. Data Inspired Living uses data to support resident's way of living and provide health and social care practitioners a preventative tool to identify emerging issues before they become embedded.
Milestones
Data Inspired Living was shortlisted for 2 Local Government Chronicle Awards for Digital Impact and Innovation in April 2024 and was the overall category winner for Innovation.
Assistive technology
There are lots of ways that technology can help you around your home - from reminding you to take your medication to getting help if you fall and can't reach the phone. Devices can be standalone, linked to family or carers, or they can be connected to a team of trained advisors in a monitoring centre who will ensure you get the support you need.
Technology can significantly enhance the quality of life for individuals, allowing them to maintain their independence and stay in their own homes longer. It not only supports physical health but also contributes to emotional well-being. By enabling individuals to stay in familiar surroundings and maintain their routines, technologies help preserve a sense of normalcy and dignity.
